Ron Spahr's current project is a " Coastal Freighter "
The model is of an Italian cargo motor-ship "Rinuccia M.
She was built in 1950, and used to transport goods in bulk.
She was approx 138 ft in length with a beam of 26 ft.   The
drawings were changed to  1/32 scale or 3/8th inch to equal
1 foot.   The building has been slowed some what as all
measurements and notations are in "Italian"!

Do check back and follow along.  Contact Ron with any comments, questions and/or building suggestions.

Norm Dillons'  current project has been to refurbish his  Soling 1M.   It was stripped and repaited.  She is to have  new fittings, radio board, sails,  etc.
Deck hardware being removed. Receiver, servos and board removed. A new radio board is made of lexan. It is about the
same weight as plywood but much stronger, waterproof and you can see
the bottom of your boat.
Hull being sanded and prepped for painting.Hull being sanded and prepped for painting.Hull being sanded and prepped for painting. It is often difficult to tell which way that your boat is going. So Norm is experimenting with some graphic ideas and color variations that would make it easier to tell one from the other. A color scheme has not yet been determined but hs iw working on it.
The boat has been sanded and prepped, apply primer coat. Sand
lightly in betweenAfter applying white base coat, mask with blue tape the desired
design. In this case, the bow is white and the stern is yellow. After applying white base coat, mask with blue tape the desired
design. In this case, the bow is white and the stern is yellow. Spray your second color (yellow).Remove tape - nice clean marking.
Decals come next.
